International Furniture Store - Status: Completed 2008

The Swedish and International Home furniture store opened its first store in Ireland in 2008. The building was designed with sustainability as a core philosophy. Measuring 30,000 sq. m over two floor levels, the design encompasses the largest geo-thermal bore field in the British Isles. No fossil fuels are used to power or heat the building. Studio 3 Architecture were appointed to complete the Ikea warehouse extension and distribution centre in 2011 and this portion of the project was completed in 2013.
